The Kanawati Industrial Complex

A large 5-story industrial complex made of four isolated adjacent structures separated by expansion joints. 

In order to provide full versatility for the occupants, this structure contained no shear walls.  It was all designed using moment resisting frames that support both gravity loads as well as seismic loads, with the use of a major structural software package.

The complex is expected to house heavy industries, thus all structural elements were designed accordingly,

(The complex was put in service in 2004).
