SCC (Lafarge) is constructing a cement plant at Aleppo - Ein Arab and decided to generate its own requirements of electric power by building a 60MW captive power plant – cool firing - at the site. For that scope they awarded the engineering to SGTEC/ HYPEC in China.

ECGroup was hired through Tourath Co. as a Third Party Consultant to review the Structural, Architectural, and MEP design documents and to assure compliance with the project requirements, specifications, code of design, and civil design criteria. 

In addition, and due to the fast track nature of the project, the duty of ECGroup was to control the schedule of drawings delivery to the site and to publish weekly and monthly reports of the drawings issuing procedure as well as the drawings delivery to the site.

All involved structures were computer modeled and about 760 drawings were thoroughly checked, and important comments were provided with Engineer and Client satisfaction. The drawings deliver to the site was perfectly monitored and the control of the progress was well appreciated by the Engineer and the Client

(Plant was put in operation Oct. 2010).
